Powergamers Anonymous is a gaming blog run by Illykai, a grizzled veteran of MMOG addiction, RPG obsession, CCG collecting, and unhygienic LANing. He is an anti-anti-geek, AI researcher, programmer, and IT consultant. He was on the leadership team of a 100+ strong online gaming guild until the time commitment became too heavy to bear, but he pines for those halcyon gaming days of endless politics, bitching, and e-peen growing. He has obsessively played his way through a scary number of games and wasted countless hours of his life in pursuit of geeky kicks.
Illykai’s favourite games, in no particularly order, include Dungeons and Dragons, Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, Magic: The Gathering, Go, Twilight Imperium Third Edition, Vampire: The Masquerade, Unknown Armies, The Settlers of Catan, Puerto Rico, Caylus, A Game of Thrones, Diplomacy, Quakeworld Team Fortress, World in Conflict, Warcraft III, Dawn of War, Counterstrike, Texas Hold-em Poker, El Grande, Planescape Torment, Civilization, Legend of the Five Rings, Illuminati: New World Order, Dungeon Twister, and GURPS. Culling the list down to that few was horribly traumatic for him and he’s sure there are games in his cupboard weeping at having been forgotten.
